Charlotte's Smiles was set up to provide parties and fun activities for children with Cancer.
OUR AIMS • To give children something to look forward to when they are undergoing treatment. • To give children something to smile about when they are well. • To give families opportunities to spend quality time together by offering family outings.
Activities in 2008
There are two sides to our work
1 - Whole family activities. In 2008 our activities for the whole family included a pantomime, Easter party, summer outing and family scrapbooking and card making craft session. We are always looking in anything the children may like.
2 - Individual activities Registered children are offered a personal smile activity. At least once a year but where a few children request the same activity it may be possible to organise a 2nd fun activity in the year. It's always best to let us know a few choices.
2009 and beyond
As soon as we can we hope to start offering smile parties for registered children. These will be parties for any occasion -There's always an excuse for a party, right?
We are currently planning a number of themes to offer. We know that sometimes the children can miss out on contact with family, friends, and social gatherings, not to mention friend's birthday parties. We hope that our parties will make up for this in a small way.
Registered children will be the Star for the day. Friends and family can be invited. There will be entertainment, games, fun and food. More details will be included in our newsletters.
